Train Ride at North Lake Park

June 25, 2024

“ALL-A-BOARD!!” The Buckhorn Northern RR at North Lake Park runs Tuesday-Sunday. Cost is $1 per person. Children under 3 ride free. The train operates through Labor Day on the following schedule:

  • Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 12-8 pm.
  • Wednesdays 2-8 pm.
  • Mondays CLOSED, except on Labor Day, open 12-8 pm.

Loveland Lions Club members are conductors and engineers, including our own DR. VAN. The train rides raise funds for eye exams & eyeglasses for NEEDY ADULTS & CHILDREN, and for $2,000 scholarships for seniors at our Loveland high schools.

The train ride includes a small depot, a tunnel, a water tower, a diesel-powered engine, two open passenger cars, a cattle car, and a caboose. It travels on 1,588 feet of track.

The Buckhorn Northern Railroad is an authentic replica of the actual steam train that hauled clay from the Devil’s Backbone to Wild’s Brick Yard west of Loveland. The clay was used to make bricks to build homes for the wealthy in Denver more than 100 years ago.

This event is only until September 2, 2024. So hurry and experience the ride of your life!
